Inspired by Madhubani motifs and Lippan art with the clay and cut mirrors, this piece fuses two of the oldest folk art styles from India.
 
Madhubani derives from the word 'Madhu', meaning honey and 'Bani' meaning forest, therefore Forest of Honey.
 
Traditionally, a mural form of art, only women painted in this style during celebrations in the community, but now male artists have become well known too.
 
Birds in Madhubani are symbolic of love, fetility and procreation.
 
Painted on high quality water color paper with water color, acrylics and calligraphy ink, it shimmers with a hint of pearlescent, making the piece ascend from different angles.
 
The addition of cut mirrors only enhances the simple beauty of this art piece.
